學者兼作家，擁有時裝設計和藝術史的學歷，並取得倫敦考陶德藝術學院（Courtauld Institute of Art）服裝史碩士學位。她曾經在多所院校執教，其中包括中央聖馬丁藝術與設計學院（Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design）。她已經出版的作品有：《世界男裝100年》（100 Years of Menswear）、《百年時尚插畫》（100 Years of Fashion Illustration）、《一五〇〇年以降的服裝史》（Costume: From 1500 to the Present Day）以及《二〇年代和三〇年代：摩登女和妖姬年代》（The 20s and 30s: Flappers and Vamps）。
