克里斯．史卡瑞博士（Dr. Chris Scarre），劍橋大學麥克唐諾考古研究中心副所長及《劍橋考古期刊》（Cambridge Archaeological Journal）編輯。在1984到1988年間，擔任備受讚譽的《過去世界：考古學的時代地圖》（Past World: The Times Atlas of Archaeology）之編輯兼主筆。最近又在《上古世界的時間表》（Timelines of the Ancient World）從事同樣的工作。著有《羅馬帝王年鑑》 (Chronicle of the Roman Emperors, Thames &Hudson)、《探索史前歐洲》（Exploring Prehistoric Europe），並與他人合著《古代文明》（Ancient Civilization）。他曾於法國負責多項考古挖掘工作，為西歐史前文化後期史專家。
