哈佛大學商學院史賓勒中心〈Spangler Family〉教授，以及哈佛商學院資深副院長暨研究主任。她教授國際商業政治課程，同時是「讓市場成功」課程〈Making Markets Work〉的主持人，這個管理人教育計畫，專門為非洲公私立機構的領袖而開設。
史帕博士早期的著作包括：《Ruling the Waves: Cycles of Discovery, Chaos, and Wealth from the Compass to the Internet 》，以及《The Cooperative Edge: The Internal Politics of International Cartels》。另與雷蒙‧維農〈Raymond Vernon〉合著《Beyond Globalism: Remaking American Foreign Economic Policy》。她與先生及三個孩子住在波士頓市郊。
